Harleston Town are delighted to announce the return of Adam Gusterson as First Team Manager.
Gusterson is no stranger to the club, having first joined in September 2015, replacing Craig Trudgill following the club’s rise through the Anglian Combination divisions. He made an immediate impact, guiding the side to a 3rd place finish during his first season, including an impressive unbeaten run.
The following campaign saw Harleston narrowly miss out on the Anglian Combination Premier Division title, finishing runners-up after a thrilling title race with Spixworth. However, the 2017/18 season proved to be a historic one, as Gusterson led the club to a memorable Premier Division and Mummery Cup double.
In December 2018, with Harleston sitting top of the Thurlow Nunn North Division, Gusterson departed to join Dereham Town—where he had previously played. He went on to enjoy a successful spell at Step 4 level, guiding Dereham into play-off contention and securing the Norfolk Senior Cup in 2019.
He later moved on to become Assistant Manager at Lowestoft Town, contributing to their success in the Isthmian North Division where they won the title in 2024.
Vice Chairman Cliff Boardman said:
“We are delighted to welcome Gussy back. He played a massive role in the club’s rise, and it’s fantastic to have him return to Harleston Town.”
Adam Gusterson added:
“I’m delighted to be back at the club where my managerial journey began. There’s a big task ahead, but we’re ready for the challenge.”
