Match report
Harleston Town travelled to Fakenham on Saturday and after a brilliant display of pace power and skill came away with a well-deserved 4-1 victory.
Manager Adam Gusterson switched the versatile Adil to centre back to partner Shadrake due to the unavailability of skipper Matt Howard and drafted young Brandon Ling in goal to replace the injured Nathan Pauling.
The writing was on the wall for the home side after just 30 seconds when a brilliant 25 yard dipping volley from Borra was superbly tipped over the bar by the home keeper, from the resulting corner Town should again have taken the lead when Baker found himself free in the 6 yard aria only for his header to be blocked on the line.
After creating several half chances Town deservedly took the lead on 14 mins Lings long clearance was flicked on buy Stone to set Scott Roberts through the home defence and Roberts clinically dispatched his shot into the bottom corner.
The home side equalised against the run of play on 25 mins Town failed to deal with a corner and in the ensuing scramble the ball somehow found its way into the net.
Town deservedly regained the lead on 25 mins once again it was the irrepressible Robert’s doing the damage after good work from Baker on the edge of the box the ball found its way to Robert’s his low shot gave the home keeper no chance.
Town continued to create chances with Stone and Baker causing havoc to the home defence but had to settle with a 2-1 lead at half time.
Second Half
After a quiet start to the second half and the visitors dealing with everything being thrown at them apart from a chance that required a fine save from young debutant Ling Towns Manager Adam Gusterson made a change removing the outstanding Baker for the power and pace off Danny Camish and within minutes the decision paid dividends with Camish latching onto a through ball from Roberts Camish brilliantly outstripped the home defence before seeing his shot well saved by the home keeper undeterred Camish collected the rebound and was felled in the penalty aria for a clear penalty, Scott Roberts stepped up to slam the ball home and complete his hat-trick.
Town completed the rout in time added on once again due to the power and pace of Camish, Borrar collected the ball just outside his own penalty aria before clipping a brilliant through ball to Camish who once again out stripped the home defence before calmly slotting the ball home past the advancing keeper.
A special mention must go to Nathan Page making his first start off the season along with young Brandon Ling who showed maturity beyond his years in goal for Town and finally in a superb team performance Olly Wills who once again showed his importance to the team.
