Harleston travelled the short journey to local rivals and top of the table Mulbarton on Tuesday night and for the second time in four days hit four goals to completely dismantle the home side with another breath-taking display.
Manager Adam Gusterson made 3 changes from the team that dispatched Fakenham on Saturday with Scott Foreman coming in for Ling in goal Jake Anema replacing the rested first team coach Olly Willis and captain Matt Howard returning at the expense of Adil.
The game started as you would expect at a frantic pace with both sides trying to assert there dominance with the home teams long ball tactics being easily dealt with by Towns impressive back line, Town settled down and prompted by the impressive Roberts started to pick holes in the home sides back line and the first chance duly arrived when Bakers low shot was well saved by the home keeper, on the 18th minute after squandering another couple of chances Town took a deserved lead.
A long throw from Jake Anema was flicked on by Stone and the ball found its self through to Roberts who’s pin point cross was headed home 8 yards out by Baker.
After yet more Harleston dominance and missed chances the second goal arrived on 36 minutes and what a goal the ball found its way to the hugely impressive debutant Anema who set off on a driving run from his own half beating 2 players before delivering a low cross to Nathan Sone who’ brilliant near post run allowed him to dispatch the ball into the top corner, half time probably could not come soon enough for the home team who had found themselves completely outplayed by the irrepressible visitors.
SECOND HALF
The second half started as the first had finished with Towns midfield of Borra Page Delany and Roberts working brilliantly and controlling the tempo of the game with Shadrack and Howard marshalling the back line and the impressive Foreman brilliant distribution from goal it only seemed a matter of time before Harleston extended their lead.
Town made it 0-3 on 53 minutes after a mistake in the home defence Baker latched on to the ball but saw his low shot well saved by the home keeper showing amazing presence of mind Baker latched onto the rebound and picked out strike partner Stone who slammed the ball home for number 3.
Nathen Gangles Stone completed his well deserved hat-trick on 64 minutes superbly finding space in the home defence before slamming the ball into the corner off the net to cap a quite breath-taking individual performance.
Stone was replaced on 70 minutes to a rousing reception from the impressive visiting support, he was replaced by the pace and power of Danny Camish to heap yet more misery on the home defence his constant running in behind the back four cased many problems for an already over worked defence and it is true to say that with out an outstanding display from the home keeper the score line could have been even more embarrassing.
I find it almost imposable to pick a MOM from such a stunning display from management to team pure brilliance and the players would like to give a special mention to our amazing traveling support in a decent crowd HTFC clearly out numbered the home support.
